My garden is starting to look amazing and it has only been 7 days so far! Almost all my herbs had sprouted on the second day. This morning all my plants were large enough that I had to remove all the grow domes. Here are a few photos of my garden so far.

Aerogarden Diary Day 1

Today I started a new garden. My wife requested the International Basil Seed Kit. I will be using my aerogarden classic to grow this seed kit.

Before I got started I decided it was time to give my aerogarden a quick tune up. I took the water pump apart and thoroughly cleaned it out. It is also recommended to change the grow bulbs every 6 months, this ensures proper lighting and allows you to maximize growing.

After all maintenance was complete, my daughters were eager to help plant the garden. We put all the seed pods in and covered them with the grow domes. Fired up the aerogarden and put it on the Herbs/Basil setting.

Each seed pod says they are expected to sprout in 4-7 days. Soon as I see some action I will be back with more updates and photos!

Today we’re going to take a look at the very popular Aerogarden 6 series. The series consists of three models, the Aerogarden 6, Aerogarden 6 Elite, and Aerogarden Space Saver 6. They all share the same technology with just a few differences. First let’s take a look at what makes the Aerogarden 6 series different from the classic Aerogarden models.

The Aerogarden 6 series come equipped with the new “Advanced Growth System” which can achieve up to 30% more plant growth compared to classic Aerogardens. Classic Aerogarden models use a water pump that feed your plant roots with water and nutrients. The Aerogarden 6 series uses an air pump that creates a rain forest like environment in the grow bowl. The plant roots are partially suspended in the air, bathed in a oxygen infused nutrient solution.

When you compare all three models at the Aerogarden store, it shows no difference other than that the Space Saver 6 is a smaller model. Each model actually has some important differences that you will want to consider before you make your selection. Let’s take a look at what makes each of these models unique.

The Aerogarden 6 Elite comes in black with stainless steel trim, similar to the Aerogarden Pro 100. This unit is an excellent choice if you’re looking to grow a wide variety of vegetables and herbs. The unit comes with pre drilled holes under the light hood for easy installation of the Deluxe Trellis System. This is a must have accessory if you plan on growing cherry tomatoes or peppers. If space is an issue for you than the Aerogarden Space Saver 6 is just the model to meet this need. The unit is 30% smaller than the other two units and has three grow pods instead of six. The Aerogarden Space Saver 6 is an excellent option if you are looking to primarily grow a small herb garden.

The Aerogarden 6 model is similar to the Space Saver but includes six growing pods. This model does no come with the option of an easy upgrade to the deluxe trellis system. I would recommend this unit if you’re looking to grow a large herb garden or flowers.

AeroGarden

Hey! Joe here,

You’re going to be reading my uncensored reviews of what I really think about the Aerogarden. You will also find helpful tips if you already own an Aerogarden.

Note that these are just reviews and tips, if you’re looking for the Aerogarden website than click HERE.

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying an Aerogarden, there weren’t many real reviews around so I thought I’d write one to help any of you who are in the same position I was. With that said let’s get started!

How Does The Aerogarden Work?

The Aerogarden uses a unique system of hydroponics called aeroponics to grow your plants. Aeroponics uses an air or mist environment without the use of soil to grow your plants. Plant roots are suspended in a closed environment and are fed a nutrient rich solution. The Aerogarden is equipped with a microprocessor that constantly monitors your plants ensuring your plants are given optimal water and nutrients and also provides an alert when nutrient and water levels are low. With plants given optimal care and using aeroponic technology, they grow faster and healthier and can contain a higher nutrient count than plants grown in soil. All while being naturally grown without the use of pesticides or harmful contaminants.

What Can I Grow?

A wide variety of herbs, vegetables, and even flowers can be grown from an Aerogarden. Depending on what seed kit you are using, you can enjoy harvesting tomatoes, green beans, chili peppers, gourmet herbs, salad greens, romaine mix, and much more. No matter what time of the year, you will no longer have to pay those outrageous prices at the supermarket for low quality produce. The grocery store has come to you, providing lower cost and higher nutrition.

What’s Included?

Starting your indoor garden could not be more simple! All models come with everything you need to get started including grow bulbs, seed kits, and nutrients. Some Aerogardens need as little as 5 minutes per month for care. A newly planted Aerogarden can last up to two weeks unattended, depending on the plants grown and their maturity! You will even be notified when water or nutrient levels are low. An Aerogarden system is going to ensure your plants are given proper amounts of water, nutrients, and light. No green thumb required!

With over 20 different models to choose from, you can be sure that you will find just the right unit. I will be covering each kit explaining the differences so you may select the best Aerogaden based on your growing needs. Aerogarden has received an enormous amount of positive reviews and comments that can be viewed HERE. If you heave heard enough and are ready to begin your indoor gardening experience, than get started HERE.
